Mothers

"Mothers aren't meant to enjoy dinner, they are only to make it," she said while beginning to feed the baby.

Cousins separated at birth

Okay, they are 19 days apart, but they were sort of twinners today, wearing pink and all.

"This is how they should be"

After Peter took 2 bites of the home-made ginger bread oreo, he said, "This is fantastic. This is how they should be." Shortly followed with, "I'm not going to eat the whole thing now. It would kill me."

Hot Scotch

This is the hot cocoa for those who can't eat chocolate. It's called Hot Scotch. I'm not sure of the recipe, it's a secret and I'm not privy. But it tastes like butterscotch.

Oh, just to clear one thing up: There's no alcohol.

I drove through that!

I'm convinced that the Subaru Legacy Outback is the best automobile for winter. I swear it was built for snow like this.

Creminelli Fine Meats

I got Creminelli's Christmas Salami in the mail on Friday. Nice touch! You can order online at Creminelli.com. I guarantee that you won't taste a finer sausage or salami.

I wouldn't have it any other way...

Just got to make sure that we have a white Christmas!

That's one way to do it.

Peter found a perfect place to burp his daughter. It didn't last long.

Maggot-Mobile

Either this guy had this car since he was a kid, or he got a REALLY REALLY REALLY good deal on it.

1.73

Didn't quite get to 1.69, but as you can see, I was pushing it. Still, 1.73 isn't bad!

Waiting...

I'm waiting for Chevron to get to $1.69. How long do you think it will take?

I'd like Ralph to have a chat with Lord Baden Powell.

I voted. Again.

Anna's first trip into public was to the polling booths. She did well. Not a single whimper.

I also am posting a picture to show what the lines look like if you go at 10:00 AM. I'm converted.

By the way, I've been mobiledose-ing for more than a year. Some of you early readers probably recall one of my first posts was that I voted.

And it will continue.

Pomegranite 7up explodes

So Gary dropped a Pomegranite 7up can on the ground. It exploded, and got all over the place. No less than 4 casualties.

Seriously?

It's not even THANKSGIVING yet!

She's home!

After 5 days in the Hospital, Julie and Anna are home!

It's good to be home.

Like Daddy like Daughter

My baby picture (the one they took at the hospital when I was born) shows me with both of my arms strait up. We've caught Anna doing this a few times.

Sometimes I wake up in the middle of the night with one of my arms above my head. Asleep. I hate it.

The First Day

Anna is 1 day old today. She is such a joy. What a cutie! I thought I knew what happiness was before Anna, but now I know.

We posted a few pictures on Julie's blog today: http://blog.devinandjulie.com

Anna Beth Baldwin

Meet Anna. She was born C-section at 11:20 PM. She was 8 lbs 11 oz, 22 inches long, with a 37 cm head.

Both mom and baby are well.

Who YOU gunna call?

This is it. I'll post in a little while!

The Verdict.

Well, here's the news:

We haven't seen much progress for 15 hours, so we're turning to the more 'modern' approach. 'Modern' in that this approach came after the other approach.

We'll go in to have a C-section in about 10-15 minutes.

We're going to have a baby tonight!

Pray for us!

We're at the max

Our Oxytocin (Pitocin) intake is at the max now. This helps the contractions along. Julie is currently at a 2. The doctor said that we'll see what the Pitocin does for the next little while. If there is no change, we'll discuss a C-section.

Oh, the movie's good. Peter just woke up.

Oh, and we have found the inspiration behind ET's finger.

New Monitor

They gave Julie a new monitor that doesn't only say how often contractions are coming, but it shows how strong they are. She's at about 50 units.

Julie is also dialated to a 2.5. When the doctor comes I'll give another report.

The View

I think we got the best room in Labor & Delivery. Far from the nurse's office, at the end of the hall. The only noises we hear are coming from our own room. And the view is spectacular. Very peaceful.

So far we watched the second half of Around the World in 80 Days, Julie took a nice nap while I watched an episode of The Office, and then she beat me at Phase 10 by 100 points and 1 phase.

Stay tuned. I'll post again in a few hours.

The magic button

Just got the magic button installed. Nothing short of amazing! As you can see, the contractions are coming pretty regularly, and Julie's as cool as a cucumber.

Labor and Delivery

We're going into Labor and Delivery right now. They called us at 7:00 and told us to be there at 7:30. We were 15 minutes late, but what are they going to do, start without us?

Stay tuned for more baby news.

Lucky Stiff

Luke did very well. Very well indeed. No idea how he kept a strait dace for so long!
