Henderson Christmas Party

Every year the Hendersons get together for the major holidays: 4th of July, Thanksgiving, and Christmas. 2 of the 4 take place at one of the Classic Fun Centers along the Wasatch front. Yesterday we went to the Layton Classic, ate, chatted, and played. This picture was taken from within the 'Pirate Ship' jungle gym. I followed Tommy up to the top (he was much faster than I), and snapped these pictures.

Shelkunchik

In a little less than 10 minutes the music will start, the curtains will be drawn, and we'll find ourselves in the middle of the dreams of a little German girl.

Yes, we're going to see the Nutcracker.

I saw this ballet first while I was a mission, performed by a Russian ballet company. Absolutely incredible. I've seen it a few times since then, but I have yet to be as impressed as I was the first time.

Well, I think you've had enough for today.

Repelling from the rafters

Last night Julie and I got to hang from the basketball standards. It's the best we could do without a rock. Way fun!

Corey cuts a banana in half...

He likes Donuts

Since he was on the phone I couldn't ask if he ate all of them. Who knows, maybe Tori helped. Maybe Chris?

Bathroom War

So the bathroom right outside our office has a stench problem. So, most of us use the restroom upstairs. It would seem that the other tennants aren't too keen on this.

Widow's mite

Have you ever heard of a widow's mite? Well, here one is. It's on display at BYU HBLL.

Traffic School

Check out this clipart! I don't mean to sound mean in any way, but I'm glad they spend their time enforcing the law... And I'm DEFINITELY glad that the person who made this slideshow doesn't make any of the city forms. Imagine this: You get caught for speeding, and issued a citation. BUT, it's okay, your citation has a pretty background and a clipart of a police hat. It's not so bad.

S'Mores at Kyle and Kat's house

so we had s'mores on friday night at Kyle and Kat's. I stuffed a whole s'more in my mouth - a difficult and somewhat painful (graham crackers have sharp corners, you know), but I did it.

Ashley and Caitlyn liked it too. In fact, it was Ashley's idea.

Rexburg, Idaho Temple

We went to Idaho for thanksgiving and drove by the new Rexburg temple. The open house is the beginning of January. My oldest brother even did some of the wood work. We look forward!

I'm proud of my nephew.

Be patient teaching your children about technology, because one day in the (near) future your roles will switch.

This is my nephew, Aaron. Notice how he uses two hands to operate the mouse. He makes his uncle proud.

Out with the old....

Time to get rid of last year's Christmas candy. Don't tell the guys at the office...

Actually, they taste quite delicious.

Chicken Chili

I know it dosn't LOOK good (on account of the camera phone), but it sure TASTES good! We have a chili cook off tonight and Julie made Chicken Chili, and it's MMMMMMMMM good!

round trip: 15:48

I can go from work to home, and back to work in 10 minutes. Today I went home, cut up some chicken, threw it in the chili, turned on the slow cooker, and returned to work in 15 minutes 40 seconds (it took about 8 seconds to stop the clock).

My thanks to Kendall for timing me on his iPhone.

I stooped.

I can't believe it. I stooped so low tonight. We were making homemade pizza, and I had to run to Allen's across the street (it's quickest) to get more cheese. I joined about 10 people in the store, and that included the family of 4.

if I would have turned and shot a photo of the parking lot, you would have seen 5 cars. It was busy tonight.

My new shoes

I get to wear my new shoes today. They are Merrells... Very comfortable, they last a long time, and they don't make my feet look clownish. All you with size 12 feet and chicken legs know exactly what i'm talking about.

If you would like to read one man's opinion on shoes, visit http://shoesoftheday.com.

Oh, Julie and I got new socks yesterday too. My feet are in heaven.

Cole's doing great!

We got to come see Cole today. They wake him up to feed a few times every day. So, we came during one of those feeding times.

He's doing well. He's looking well and still moves around.

The finger in the picture is Gene's finger. In the second picture he's yawning, in the third picture he opened his eyes.

I would love this job... For 30 minutes.

This guy is washing the office windows right now. I'd love to hang from the roof of a 3-story office building as a lunch-beak job. Once. Then put me back in front of my computer where I can CREATE!

It's Julie's birthday!

This is the bouquet of pencils I made for Julie for her birthday. Julie, like a lot of girls, made a list of things she wanted in a husband. I matched every item on the list but one:

14. A romantic-- the type that would send me a bouquet of sharpened pencils.

Well... I've done some romantic things in the past, but never gave her a bouquet of sharpened pencils. Still haven't, in all honesty - these pencils aren't sharp!

Visiting Cole Hazen Baldwin

Gene, Betty and Sydney went to see Cole Hazen today at the hospital. Here are some photos they took.

Cole Hazen Baldwin

Cole Hazen Baldwin was born at 12:33 this morning (10/16/2007) to Gene and Betty. he weighs 5 lb. 2 oz., and is about 18 inches tall.

Cole was born on his great-grandparents' anniversary, Hazen and Guila Olsen. It's very fitting that he shares a special date with his name-sake.

He was born about 6 weeks early. Right after he was born they took him in the back, cleaned him up, and put tubes into his lungs to help him breathe, and in his stomach to feed him. They say that they are generally released on their due date, but he could be released sooner. When he can maintain his own body temperature and eat on his own he'll be able to go home.

Betty is doing well. She will be released today.

Cole's first ride was in a brand new ambulance. Sydney was a little jealous.

Cole will be staying in the University Hospital in Salt Lake City, wich is right next to Primary Phildren's Hospital.

I'll be posting more on Cole. Check back for news!

Fall weather, thankless jobs

This guy is mowing the lawn/raking leaves in one swoop. Sometimes I wish I mowed lawns for a living. Then again, maybe not.

Ghosts

My aunt just gave us these for halloween. Julie loves them. They are way fun.

The Buzz That Drove Us Nuts

The air conditioners that cool the building where OrangeSoda resides are located right outside our office window (i share a corner office with the other 4 people in my department).

Recently one of the air conditioners developed a buzz. Needless to say, this started to drive all of us nuts! So, Dean took action. I documented.

The buzz continues.

Sadie Ann Henderson

We're in the hospital right now, meeting our new neice! Sadie was born at 12:37 this morning after a 3 hour labor. She joins her 3 brothers and 4 male cousins (on the Henderson side).

She's a cutie! I'm sure she'll get some blog time here and there.

Hinckley Building at night

While we were on campus on Monday, we took a stroll over to see the Hinckley building. This is the clock tower, if you couldn't recognize it.

We didn't get to go in, but we were able to look in. It looks like a way cool building. We'll take a tour some day.
